DESCRIPTION: American Waltham Watch Co,, Waltham, Mass., model 1870 "Crescent St.", 18 size, 15 jewels, key wind and set gilt plate movement, with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, gold timing screws and micrometric regulator, in a coin silver, reeded edge, engine turned and engraved, Am. Watch Co. hunting case, and Roman numeral, single sunk white enamel dial, blued steel spade hands, serial #520093, c1870
CONDITION: CASE: Minor dents less than the size of a grain of rice, one in band, one in front near hinge; Dings and pin pricks; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on inner surface of case; Engine turning / engraving worn smooth; Front cover extends slightly beyond 90 degrees when opened; Bow with minor wear; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Excellent (no hairlines). HANDS: Replaced. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Plate with spot at 4th wheel upper jewel; Upper balance endstone and setting replaced. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks), cannon pinion loose.
